Designing tangible connections between body, emotion, and perception.

Anna Matsumoto is a Creative Technologist and HCI researcher exploring how technology can sense and extend human intention through touch, movement, and multisensory feedback.

Her work bridges design, computation, and accessibility—developing expressive systems that translate emotion and perception into tangible, shared experiences.

Interactive Multimedia

How can the body itself become an instrument for multisensory expression and communication?

Developing systems where gesture, rhythm, and physical interfaces create new forms of presence and collective experience.

Audio-Reactive Haptic Spheres / 2025

Transforms audio signals into inflation, vibration, and motion.
Bridges sound and touch to explore how multisensory feedback can expand shared perception.

Puppets / 2024

Our brainwave and motion data turn into visuals and music.
Explores how technology can externalize inner presence and connect minds beyond language.

Doppelgänger Instruments / 2024

A live performance with one’s past self — an invisible duet across time, where gestures become sound and memory takes form as harmony.

Knowledge is Power / 2025

Audiences trace the path of a wheelchair ramp—feeling the distance, hearing the stories. 10 minutes immersive AR narrative built from real accessibility experiences.
